i've never been a big shopper when i travel. i don't normally buy a lot of stuff, so i don't like the idea of just browsing through a shopkeeper's merchandise when i have no plans to purchase anything. however, this time, i was on a mission to bring something back for a friend of mine, and another friend of mine recommended this one shopkeeper, so off i went. there was an array of batiks, rwandan baskets, wood carvings, masks, and of course jewelry. this kind of jewelry isn't particularly expensive, but i love how colorful most of it is.
