a west virginia sunset

my dad built his first house out in west virginia near the town of berkeley springs when he was 21 (i think). since i was very young, we've been going out to west virginia for hiking, shooting, riding motorcycles, skiing, snowboarding, having camp fires, and just plain old hanging out.

we drive by this overlook every single time we go out to the house, and we rarely stop because usually we just want to get to the house. but this time, we came up on it at just the right time of day - the sun was setting just over my dad's property out there, and it was truly breathtaking, and i hadn't taken any pictures for the day yet. so i guess the stars were aligned for this shot.

  1. Very nice... I can't tell you how much I miss the times going out to WV with your dad.

I always looked forward to getting the pies from the local grocery and putting them on the pot belly stove. Nothing like warm apple and blueberry pie after a hard day of banging nails.

Thanks for the memories Allison! Glald you all still get a lot of time up there.
